The Full Story
Elizabeth Alvillar's journey with yoga, meditation, and pranayama began in her youth, where she discovered the transformative power of disciplined practice in channeling and shifting energy. As she matured, meditation and pranayama became natural extensions of her spiritual growth, proving to be invaluable tools for manifestation. ​After a decade of personal practice, Elizabeth felt called to share her knowledge, embarking on a teaching path that has spanned over 30 years. Despite accumulating thousands of hours of training, Elizabeth remains a perpetual student, continuously delving into yogic philosophy at the 300-hour level. Her belief that one can never fully exhaust the depths of yoga's wisdom fuels her passion for ongoing study. Gratitude fills Elizabeth's heart as she acknowledges the influences of luminaries like Indra Devi, BKS Iyengar, K. Pattabhi Jois, T.K.V. Desikachar, and Dr. Vasant Lad, along with every teacher who has illuminated her path with encouragement and insight. Elizabeth's life has been a journey of intuitive flow, guiding her from San Diego, CA, to Santa Cruz, CA, and Portland, Oregon. Along the way, she has nurtured her two incredible children while teaching, leading retreats, and sharing her expertise in 200 and 300-hour teacher trainings. A mentor to new teachers and a coach in empowerment, Elizabeth's offerings extend beyond the yoga mat, encompassing sound healing, aromatherapy, Reiki, and NLP life coaching. As a sound healing master, she integrates the therapeutic benefits of sound frequencies into her practice, helping clients achieve deep relaxation and inner harmony. Passionate and enthusiastic, Elizabeth's teaching repertoire includes Vinyasa, Rope Wall, Yin, Restorative, Hatha Yoga, Trapeze Yoga, TRX Yoga, and Nautical Flow. Her classes welcome practitioners of all levels and abilities, with each student entrusted to her watchful and caring guidance as they explore yoga as a sacred journey.
